Beth Rolingson
Executive Director

Beth Rolingson is one of the original three co-founders of Advocacy Outreach in January 1992 and the first Executive Director. She attended the University of Houston and has a Legal Assistant Certification and Certification in Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas. Her former work experience includes victim advocacy for Family Crisis Center and client advocacy for Rural AIDS Services. Her former life experience includes tapestry weaving, raising angoras, and operating a handspun yard dyeworks. She now has the most beautiful rose garden in Webberville.

Patsy Hoffman
Office Manager, Special Projects Coordinator
patsy@advocacyoutreach.orgPatsy Hoffman worked in commercial broadcasting before retiring. She now works part time with Advocacy Outreach as the office manager and is a vital networker for our vision. Patsy is very active with the Elgin community as she belongs to Evision Elgin and on the board of the Friends of the Library, Library Advisory Board, Historic Review Board, Elgin Historical Association, and is acting treasurer of Elgin Cemetary Association.

ReceptionistHarvey Scroogins is retired, yet came to work for us through a collaborative effort with AARP.
Cidneye Godkin
Homelessness Prevention Advocate
cidneye@advocacyoutreach.orgCidneye Godkin has worked in the field of social services for more than 20 years. Her background includes experience in the fields of sexual assault, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, migrant health, and homelessness. She was an organizer and facilitator of the Bastrop County International Women’s Day Celebration during its first decade, 2000 to 2010.

Anne Spanyers is versital in many areas of education, receiving trainings in Trainer, Literacy Advancement Initiative, Literacy Coalition of Central Texas (ESL Instructor Training), Leadership Excellence Academy (A joint initiative of the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium and ProLiteracy)

Yadira Lira
English as a Second Language Instructor
yadira@advocacyoutreach.orgYadira Lira is a bilingual instructor teaching our Even Start beginning ESL classes. She has worked for Advocacy Outreach for many years and has worked in the Early Childhood Developement Center. She has recieved certification in the Nurturing Program and has had many additional training in both adult and child education.

Austin Community College, Advanced English as a Second Language Instructor

Ethel Ellis
Early Childhood Development Center Director

Ethel Ellis works are the Director of the Early Childhood Development Center and has worked for Advocacy Outreach for over 11 years. She has received certification in the Nurturing Program, trained in Partners for Literacy, Learning Games, Creative Curriculum and CDA training. Ethel administers assessments and PALS testing to our clients in order to teach appropriatly for each child. Ethel has multiple years of training in several areals of child development.
Carolyn Thompson, BS
Early Childhood Specialist, Parenting Instructor
carolyn@advocacyoutreach.orgCarolyn Thompson holds a Bacholor of Science in Art Education, all level certification and is certified in the Nurturing Program. She teaches young children from 2 1/2 years to 5 in the Early Childhood Developement Center. Carolyn teaches Parenting skills to parents in the Even Start program and to young parents reffered to her. Helping people to move forward is her passion.
Debbie Hendricks
Infant/Toddler Instructor
debbie@advocacyoutreach.orgDebbie Hendricks has been working for Advocacy Outreach for over 10 years in the Early Childhood Development Center, using developmentlly appropriate curriculum and care for infants and toddlers. She is certified in the Nurturing Progam, and recieved training for Partners for Literacy, Learning Games, Creative Curriculum and other training in early childhood education. Debbie has CDA training and loves working with young children.
Michelle Austino
GED Instructor
michelle@advocayoutreach.orgMichelle Austino has a BBA in Marketing and Managment. She has trained adults for over 20 years in work skills, life skills, computor skills and GED in both private and public companies. Michelle teaches GED and is one of the Even Start home visitors and assists with reports for Advocacy Outreach. She also serves on the board of directors for Elgin Eldercare. She enjoys hanging out with her dog, Judith Ann.
