Information about Evening English Classes for Adults

Welcome to English classes at Manor ISD!  Many students like you have attended our classes and have been successful toward meeting their goals.  Classes will be offered for Beginning and Intermediate ESL students only.

Due to the large number of students interested in English classes, we cannot take walk-ins.  If you are interested in attending the next orientation, please call Lourdes at 229-5183 and leave a message with your name and phone number.

Classes are 2 evenings per week, 6PM to 8PM.   We offer child care for children ages 3-10 only. No babies or toddlers, please!

At orientation, students will learn more about the classes, fill out the registration form, and take an English assessment.  The assessment will help determine which class is right for you. 

Returning students must also attend the registration on January 10th.  Students with a posttest from the previous year will be assigned a class at that time.  Students without a posttest will be placed on a waiting list to return to classes.

In order to be successful, it is very important that you agree to attend classes regularly.  Students are required to attend 60 or more hours of classes during the school year. If you have to miss classes or my schedule changes, please let your teacher know and make arrangements to attend another class.  If you cannot attend at least 75 percent of class time each month, you will be put on a waiting list to return to class.
